Peacefully perched in the hinterlands, imagine sleepy hills and a single road lined with trees. It was a perfect sanctuary from the lively Byron Bay. It will take approximately 15 minutes to drive to Byron Bay and you are also situated around lovely historic towns.
After greeted by the host, a quick run down was provided, showing where important items are located, supplies and that the outside lights are to be switched on as it is pitch black at night. Your car won’t be covered, as the car can only be parked literally in front of the apartment. Everything was thought of with this apartment, from the torches, hangers, towel heat rack, beach chairs, umbrellas, basic morning food and extra towels. We were greeted with a cute little blackboard greeting us, along with white wine! The apartment is perched under the main home, so you can hear muffled footsteps above. Though I do think they were aware of this, as it was not frequent. Newspapers were provided to check out what was happening during our stay. You literally did not have to bring anything, but yourself to this gorgeous apartment.
What I loved about this apartment, was the tranquility, throughout the day and night. Also, that the hosts provided us with complete privacy. The queen bed was heavenly, I appreciated the separate vanity table and the spacious floor space in the bedroom! The only thing I would suggest is putting some curtains/blinds in the living room, because if you’re like me who is afraid of looking out into the dark, this will freak you out a bit.
You can see from the images below, the interior was purposely thought of.

Booking through Agoda was a first for me, heard through a friend that it was reliable and offered affordable hotel prices. I went through a lengthy process deciding which accommodation to stay at, after a few weeks later I settled for Stamford Plaza.
What I absolutely loved most about this 5-star hotel, was the quality of service and that it offered the basics of what a 5-star hotel should have. A top level pool and spa that had you looking up towards the sky, next to a fully furnished gym and sauna. Also, how efficient room service was and how checking in and out of the hotel was just effortlessly done.
The biggest point was that it is very close to the CBD of Melbourne, only a few minutes walk down to the major shopping cites and to the free city-circle tram ride.
There was a little hitch that I disapproved, where a staff did not kindly demonstrate to us how to use our cards tsk tsk, but overall I wouldn’t mind staying here again when I have a chance to once again explore Melbourne.

Though this suite was not luxury, it had all the necessities we needed for a short trip. A large bed, kitchen, TV and a table. I find it a waste of money spending money it on excessive things, I’d rather use the money for activities and shopping!
But yes, a pool and a sauna that is available at any accommodation does sound tempting for sure.
For three nights we only spent $313.71 for a “special deal for 2 people deluxe suite, one bedroom” though we requested for a kind size bed, because you know I like my space haha. Anyways, I think we got upgraded because we had a lounge room, own bathroom that had a laundry area. Wasn’t bad at all. The kitchen was fully equipped, with plates, silverware, coffee station, etc. The room was comfortable, quiet and had no problems what so ever.
Other bonus points was that it was literally a 2 minute walk down to Queen St (the main shopping district of Auckland). If you would like to check them out, this is their site http://www.barclaysuites.blackstone.co.nz/
