MALIN+GOETZ | MECCA MAXIMA
There are many times when I need a clay mask on the go and this sample was timely sent! Never heard of this brand before, and I do not know if I am saying the name right… It is a skin line that caters for those with sensitive skin types.
The grey clay mask has a rough texture, even though the consistency was light. It felt like similar to a scrub with miniature balls. The clay is refined kaolin mixed with witch hazel and arnica extract. After using it I was able to immediately see the clarifying effects of the mask, without it harming my sensitive skin. It is said to be anti-bacterial as well as anti-inflammatory.
KAT VON D | SEPHORA
Aside from the chic-looking monochromatic case… nope not aside, it looks and feels fabulous. I just adore the unique incorporation of the studded design.
With a variety of colours to choose from, I was given the Underage Red which I find is a beautiful shade for morning and night. It applies a bit matte, with a little shine which could be brilliantly paired with any neutral clothing. Though it is combined with an antioxidant complex, providing moisture it is really not much difference. Also, for me even after applying lipliner underneath, it was not long-wear.
JOSIE MARAN | MECCA MAXIMA
I got this as a sample within the last Mecca Maxima member’s box. I heard a lot of good things about this liquid illuminizer and it did not fail to impress! The glow that it brings out is amazing and bold, but be sure to use a little as it goes a long way.
A velvety gold liquid is pumped out which is laced with argan oil, madonna lily and poet’s narcissus to further brighten. It is not shimmery and creates a subtle highlight. 1 – 2 dabs is all I need, but feel free to add more especially on a night out, your highlights will surely dazzle.
ESTEE LAUDER | SEPHORA
Upon opening the sample, I found the creme on the thicker side. I am biased however, because I would rather the firmer texture for my eye area. Non-sticky and highly hydrating, this eye cream from Estee Lauder is intended to keep your eye area looking youthful. It uses two key ingredients, Photo-Activated and Nocturnal Lift Complexes to increase collagen and elasticity.
I am intrigued with this product, however paying close to $100… I do not know. Also, ehe fragrance from this sample, smells faintly like stick glues. I have however been seeing positive reviews on this, so maybe it would be worth the investment.
As this was only a sample, I did not get the benefit of seeing the result over a long period of time. What I can tell you, is that the serum though velvety, was thick and I could just imagine how potent it is. It did have a faint sweet fragrance and had a cooling sensation when applied.
Benefits include: oil-free, prevention of visible and signs of ageing, fights dryness, dullness and loss of radiance. The bottle is quite pricey in the market, so for me maybe when ageing signs become more prominent I might invest.
By Terry | Mecca Maxima
I got introduced to this brand by a sample through Mecca Maxima, and girl did I get lucky! Such a stunning packaging design, both inside and out. That royal purple and gold… it really showcases the strict elegance of the brand.
What this basically does, is not only apply the non-smudging product but it encases a serum Lumicoat Care Technology. The serum enhances growth and strength. Other than that, the brush is effectively made which helps spread the product evenly, without clumping. For me, the product is quite thin, though it does give my lashes a more defining look throughout the day.
Tip: If you’re enrolled in a school that doesn’t allow any makeup, this would perfectly blend without looking too obvious.
