Beta Glucan Daily Moisture Cream

IMG_1768.jpg

IUNIK

The beta glucan daily moisture cream is from a Korean skincare brand, iUNIK, that emphasises simplicity in its design and ingredients. For 60ml and I purchased this cream for $22.95, it had lasted me for over 4 months!

The top two listed ingredients are water and butylene glycol. I’m surprised beta glucan is not the first listed ingredient, however it is along the first line. I’m also not sure the amount of each ingredient is, as there are not percentages written. Butylene glycol is an humectant, used to retain skin moisture and is said to be effective in moisturising the skin. The ingredient is also compatible with non-water-soluble products, as the ingredient helps dissolve other ingredients resulting in easier application. I’ll also highlight the beta glucan ingredient, which is used to soothe irritated skin as well as plump and firm the skin.

There’s a very slight scent and I found the consistency to be non-sticky, easily applied and water-based. The cream did not cause any irritation on my sensitive skin and I saw instant moisturising benefits. During colder days, I felt like the cream was not thick enough even after layering a lot more for the day. On drier days, the cream felt made my oiler throughout the day, so the best time for me to use it, was on days when I was just at home.

I probably won’t buy it again, as it did make my skin oiler. However, I loved the light-weight feel of the cream, making it a great everyday use. Price point was amazing too, because you get a long usage out of it and was super gentle on the skin.

Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Mask

IMG_1819.jpg

COSRX

Th overnight rice spa mask is best used during the evening, as the consistency is on the thicker side, working to promote skin cell rejuvenation and moisture levels. The mask’s aim is to brighten, even out the skin tone and relive inflamed skin with the use of rice extract.

There was no scent and I found the consistency to be non-sticky, which made the mask very easy to apply. I only applied a bit during the evening and did see a little difference. My skin felt soft in the morning and although I did not see my skin tone even out, my skin’s texture did smooth out a little. I wouldn’t say this product did wonders for my skin, however the mask was perfect for dry, sensitive skin like mine. The product claims to make your skin firmer, however for me, I did not see any difference. It did howver, definitely did its job to moisturise my skin and smooth out a little of my rough patches.

Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence RX (Pro Ferment)

IMG_1813.jpg

MISSHA

Essence is applied after the cleansing and toner step, used to specifically target imperfections, similar to face serums. The difference is essences is used as the first step in treatment and is water in its consistency. Not necessarily required in your skin care, however for me, I find essences to add a deeper layer of hydration and has anti-wrinkle benefits.

The Time Revolution essence is quite affordable compared to others in the beauty market and you get 150ml worth of it. I usually use about 3 drops, which covers both my face and neck. The essence does a good job in smoothing out any rough patches on my skin, feels super plump and provides light hydration. There’s this glass-skin effect after application and what I love is that it feels light, so you can also apply it during the day. Main ingredients are fermented yeast extract, rice extract and pearl extract.

Non-sticky and it does not have a scent to it. The liquid also comes in a sturdy hard-glass container, it feels super luxe. I have had no bad reactions to it and the essence I find, blends well with other skin products I use. Is the essence a must-buy, maybe yes maybe no, but it slowly delivers results after a number of uses. For me, I do notice my skin looking a little duller when I skip applying this essence.

Smart Drawing Blusher

INNISFREE

What drew me into this Innisfree’s blush, was the three shades available. The three shades similarly had that natural pinkish blush look, which I find is great to use for an everyday wear. The colour payoff is not harsh and looks almost airy, when applied and blended out. I believe I bought 03, which reminds me of a softer barbie baby orange-pink. I like the applicator actually, it helps with spreading out the cream blush first, but I wouldn’t recommend just using it to blend it out. I would just use my fingers to evenly blend the blush, as I could control the areas I want to concentrate in and give it a more satin-like finish.

For only $13, this blush is a steal! You can easily build the intensity, it is non-sticky and has no fragrance that I can detect. It has a sheer shine to it, no glitters and specks which is a plus! So it looks great over foundation or on days when you’ve just got face lotion/suncreen on.

Vivid Cotton Ink

IMG_1051.JPG

INNISFREE

I am slowly building up this little collection of Innisfree’s cotton ink lip tints. I have been meaning to use lip tints more, just because of its natural finish look. For $16.10 you get 4g of lip tint and is available in 15 shades, I believe in the same colour palette. Mainly reds and browns.

I love the soft, flat-edge wand used, as it applies the shine essence oil-infused (camellia, mango seed, avocado, cotton seed oil) tint across the lips. I wonder how it would work on the cheeks mmm? Anyways, it feels moist, soft and non-drying once applied and has a slight fragrance to it. I would spread a tiny bit in the inner-most of my lips and then spread it out with my fingers. A little tint dabbed on, goes a long way! It is super pigmented so it lasts for a good 3-4 hours. Definitely buildable and once dried, it does not smudge. Non-sticky too! The finish is matte, with subtle shine.

Collagenic Aqua Volume Lip Essence

MIZON | MECCA MAXIMA $15

The texture of this lip gloss, is silky smooth and definitely ‘juicy’. A little is required and I suppose it would depend on what you eat/drink, but it would last for a good hour or two. It’s super compact, so you can easily have it on the go.

Nourishing due to the mixture of its quantity and enriching essence. It has collagen to assist with moisturising your lips, transforming your chapped lips to a more youthful appearance and feel. It does recommend apply it 20 minutes before jumping under the sun, as it contains UV protection. The only criticism I have about this product, is that it claims to ‘plump lips’. I think it just gives the illusion due to the gloss overlay, but overall I quite like how its non-sticky, no scent and the clear sheen it provides.

TOUCH IN SOL | BB COSMETIC $7.97

8% off code: XCH0KU1Z1RC4

Don’t you love pops of yellow and against black? It provides the ‘edgey’ feel but at the same time, combining it with youth. That’s what I felt this mascara gave, when applying. The handle I found is perfect, great for people like me who has a unsteady hand.

Super buildable, this mascara delivers a light-weight black finish and swiftly separates your lashes. I find that the texture of rubber-like, which allows the lashes to truly open. It is formulated with silk protein, protecting and maintaining your eyelashes health. I do enjoy wearing this during the day or a simple day/night out, just because it looks natural. I love how it doesn’t transfer and it is perfect for sensitive eyes, well for me in any case.

To point out, I like the wand because of its arch. With the arch I can lift my lashes whist coating. For a price this affordable, I highly recommend!

Pale Pink x 16 Brand

FullSizeRender.jpg

16 BRAND | MECCA MAXIMA $19

I incorporate this blush pen, on days when I generally wear minimal make-up. I love to just dab it on top of a plain strobe cream to give my cheeks a bit of colour. The colour on my skin, almost looks like a metallic light pink and has that extra glow, but quite natural. I would dab a line of my desired areas, and further pat it in with my fingers to blend. The liquid that comes out, is non-sticky and is light-weight.

I have never heard of this brand, but I am loving this blush pen! Super easy to use, eliminating the process of getting a sponge/brush to apply the blush. You only need 2-3 clicks and out comes with liquid. It lasts throughout the day, and it is build-able. With about 19 shades to choose from, I think I am getting myself another pen!
