An Indonesian fusion cafe, operates 6 days a week with long hours (7:00 – 19:30). The quickest way to get there, is to jump off Town Hall and it should only take 10 minutes to get there!
The interior is instagram worthy, with tasty pinks and cream and make sure to check out the quote on their wall. It is a cosy spot, so make sure to get in there early or out of rush hours. Unfortunately when I visited, their air-conditioning was not running so had to brunch in the humidity. This however did not lessen my excitement for their dishes! What makes them unique is their fusion of Indonesian and Western food. Try their Superbowls, which has one layer of tasty Mi Goreng and another layer of pork belly, sausages, herbed corn, melted cheese and corned beef. The cravings are real! There are other items that will certainly entice you for a second or third visit.
Service was lovely and quick! Make sure to take a snap or two, as their interior and food presentation calls out for a snap or two. I have a feeling I’ll be back.

Located inside Strathfield’s Sports Club, you will find an abundance of seating area, inside and in its courtyard. Generously lit with plenty of sunlight, you could be sitting here for a good 1-2 hours, devouring down on their fried chickens!
They have a wide selection of tasty fried chickens to choose from, from memory about 10-12 different toppings can be selected. I do appreciate that you can have the boneless option, for an added $2-3 from the large portion. You can choose whether you want the regular or large portion. We got the creamy onion chicken, which was definitely creamy and had plenty of onions to top it off! The topping did however just sat on top, which for some people they don’t mind that, but I like when the sauce is absorbed. This was on the more sweeter side, which complimented the fried chicken. E then proceeded to get the hot and spicy gangjung. I don’t know how this tasted, because I stay away from spicy food, but I do remember E enjoyed this quite a bit!
Service was great, efficient and speedy! You do get the sides as well, though it is less traditional and less in portion, compared to when visiting Korean restaurants/BBQ. There’s a cafe right next to Red Pepper, if you fancy yourself a coffee or fruit drink. I do remember seeing some tasty cakes too!

Located within Eastwood Hotel, Jeans Chilli Chicken has a spacious outdoor and indoor seating area, perfect for small and large gatherings. Luckily for me, we were the only ones there, so our meals were served efficiently and smoothly! I did see a few take-away orders coming out.
You will find yourself immersed for a few minutes in their menu, probably salivating and thinking at the same time. If you are big on chilli items, you will be blessed with their menu. The majority of their items, have a spicy kick to it, ranging from their single, shared, entree and main plates. Price ranges from $7 to $37, you will definitely find something to pick from, with meats varying from duck, chicken, eel, pork and seafood!
We were recommended to grab ourselves the EQ Honey Chicken and Jean’s Fried Chicken. I ate the EQ Honey Chicken, just cause I cannot endure the chilli kick, it was an absolute thumbs up! It had a more darker sweetness, which soaked right through the tender chicken. I couldn’t stop reaching out for more. When choosing any of the chicken mains, you also get a bowl of seaweed rice! A great pairing and I was thrilled that it came with it! The side Korean food items were less here, it may be because they wanted it to be kept minimal and suited to the hotel’s image? An additional Cheese Chilli BBQ Chicken was ordered, but unfortunately I cannot comment on it, cause it looked red as hell!

Highly recommend visiting during the weekdays when its is not too busy and when the sun is out! Bekya’s interior fits perfectly with the open space of the Tramsheds, be sure to check out the other dinners there.
I don’t get much of an opportunity to eat Middle Eastern cuisines, as there isn’t much out west. Bekya was a great introduction to the food offerings at Tramshed, locally sourced which makes a whole lot of difference to its quality. Family recipes are used with a blend of old and modern food techniques.

Stepped into Tomatito and did not want to leave, wanted to try all them delicious tapas. Settled in quite quickly and stepped into a spacious Spanish themed restaurant, also 80s inspired, with splashes of red and fairy lights definitely giving the interior a festive vibe.
You will find the menu filled with fun Spanish tapas, priced mid range upwards (200 php +) and the quantity per plate was not a disappointment. Between E and I, we ordered about 7 plates to share and dessert. I highly recommend the ‘Salmon TNT’, it was a sweet mix of smoked salmon, honey and truffle, that exploded under a bite. I have been craving for it since arriving back to Sydney. Special mention to their ‘Dessert Platter’ and ‘Ibericos Croquettes’ Colours and its matching flavours made the dinning experience exciting, that if given the time, I would have ordered more! Cocktail I ordered, called ‘Livin La Vida…’ was smooth, no hint of alcohol was tasted.
Even if you are not in the BCG, Taguig area, I recommend the drive down and getting a taste of Tomatito’s Spanish tapas!

Visited during a bright lit day, it was a refreshing start. With plentiful street parking, Mr. Cafe is located comfortably in a quiet suburb, with ample open indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are friendly, prompt and I can say the same thing when the food came out. Coffee was strong but beautifully roasted.
I got what I heard was popular from their menu, which was the ricotta filled cinnamon doughnuts. It was tastefully topped with honey, ginger and peach crumbs and half a peach on the side. The dough was sugary and soft and with the fillings, it gave another hit of sweetness. Ordered another plate of sandwich, separating chicken, avocado and eggs. I definitely would come back!

I have heard of this name previously, and since I was in the area it was perfect timing to drop by! Just a few minutes walk from Kings Cross station, you will find yourself submerged in the upbeat and cosy feel of this Chinese restaurant.
I love open kitchen concepts, it brings entertainment to your table as well as excitement. Billy Kwong uses this in its layout flawlessly, where E and I sat at the bar watching the chefs do their magic, whilst sipping through their delicious drinks menu. The price point is normal, from $17 upwards to $48, and the dishes came out timely. Friendly staff and made you feel welcome.
We were treated to flavoursome dishes, that highlights the mixture of Australian and Chinese ingredients. The main notes I experienced were the peppery, salty, sour and sweet notes in each dish and I wished I had a larger stomach to keep going through their menu! Their wontons were to die for and their spicy omelette was soft, crisp and heavenly. The pictures I took are a bit dim, so it doesn’t fully capture the presentation but it isn’t short of amazing. I almost forgot… their green matcha gelato is the best I’ve tasted, two scoopes was not enough!
