Second time visiting Manos Nail Lounge, and I remember my first experience there before went well.

The nail lounge is located in the modern city BGC, Taguig, where you will need to enter Crescent Park Residences (left staircase), past a kindergarten school and down a hallway.  You will then be greeted promptly by the lovely ladies. I highly recommend pre-booking, by calling, messaging to email, ensuring your visit is hassle-free. The interior is lovely with warm tones, comfortable seatings, cool temperature, capturing the Filipino style.

I recommend their Awakening spa treatment, which helps target tired muscles and encourages blood circulation. Whilst that was happening, I also had the Manos Classic and got myself a daring yellow nail gel. The ladies were great in delivering the service, relaxing, professional and my nails were clean! The nail gel was applied perfectly, you can see the image below.

Unfortunately, both my pedicure and manicure did not dry quickly, so when putting on my slippers, my big toe nail got hit… damaging the nail gel. I got offered the nail drying machine-thing, though it only blew out cool air. So guess what that didn’t work, and so my nails were getting damaged. As I said earlier, the room was cool with not an ounce of dryness, so my nails could not dry.

Seaweed Night Cream

IMG_1012.jpg

MARIO BADESCU

Packed with vegan-friendly ingredients, seaweed as its main, the cream provides a powerful, moisturising layer during the night. I found the texture quite interesting, it felt silky, non-greasy and soft! I noticed after a few days of using the cream, during the day my skin retained the natural glow and youthful bounce. There’s a slight scent to it and don’t worry, your skin won’t turn green.

Collagen is another key ingredient, to enhance your skin tone and smooth out unwanted wrinkles. Hydraulic acid is also present, keeping your skin moisturised in harsh, drying conditions.

Lip Balm

MARIO BADESCU

Long-lasting and wearable on its own, or what I do to spice it up a bit, is add some lip tint. Since the consistency of the lip balm is thick, non-sticky and is easily spread, lip tints just sink right in!

Winter is over now here in Australia and during the season my lips was constantly seeking for some heavy duty lip balm. This power-punching balm is infused with cocoa and shea butter, coconut and sweet almond oil, as well as Vitamin E. A thin layer is all that is required, as the balm is quite thick but at the same time, melts into your lips quickly. I did not find the balm greasy and no scent was detected. Definitely long-wearing, it keeps my lips highly supple, smooth and gives your lips a little shine to it.

Smart Drawing Blusher

INNISFREE

What drew me into this Innisfree’s blush, was the three shades available. The three shades similarly had that natural pinkish blush look, which I find is great to use for an everyday wear. The colour payoff is not harsh and looks almost airy, when applied and blended out. I believe I bought 03, which reminds me of a softer barbie baby orange-pink. I like the applicator actually, it helps with spreading out the cream blush first, but I wouldn’t recommend just using it to blend it out. I would just use my fingers to evenly blend the blush, as I could control the areas I want to concentrate in and give it a more satin-like finish.

For only $13, this blush is a steal! You can easily build the intensity, it is non-sticky and has no fragrance that I can detect. It has a sheer shine to it, no glitters and specks which is a plus! So it looks great over foundation or on days when you’ve just got face lotion/suncreen on.

Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater

thumbnail_IMG_1121.jpg

MARIO BADESCU

Recommended for all skin types, this facial spray can be used before applying your makeup, as a pick-me-up or when your skin is looking too matte/dull. I’ve been using it in the morning as a light moisturiser, after showering, before applying makeup and right before bed! I love how it evenly sprays, the spritz is between fine to mid. Because of the light texture, it works great as a moisturising base, if you’re like me getting way too oily throughout the day. The fragrance to this spray is quite light, it doesn’t linger and it is actually quite soothing.

Packed with botanical and herbal extracts, these natural ingredients help with rejuvenating and soothing tired skin. I have had no negative reactions to this spray, mainly due to its non-harsh ingredients used. 1-2 spritz is more than enough! Apparently you can also use it on your hair.

Detoxifying Clay Masque Super Greens

IMG_0598.jpg

SUKIN

Retailing for less than $20 AUD, this clay masque is packed with natural, super green ingredients, such as avocado, baobab, reship oil, kale, goji berry and bentonite. These vitamin-boost ingredients are used to increase skin brightness, reduce fine lines and provide antioxidants to help detox the skin.

I don’t believe I ended up finishing this masque, just left aside. It was refreshing when left on my skin, though when I removed it, it had little effect. My skin felt somewhat the same before and after applying the masque. I used it for 2-3 months, but did not see any of the benefits it claims to provide. The upside of it, was that it was not harsh on my skin and was easy to wash off.

Blemish Rescue Anti-Redness Mattifying Primer

thumbnail_IMG_1055.jpg

BAREMINERALS

A generous amount is needed to cover completely, because I find it quite sheer when it spreads. The formula is weightless, no scent and is lotion-like. The primer is surprisingly green, which makes sense, as the green mineral pigments help neutralise any redness on the face. Additional ingredients that it is packed with to cover blemishes, are chamomile and arnica.

This primer is priced towards the mid-high end. I use this primer, especially on days when my redness won’t go away and on special occasions. I find that it works amazing on drier days and when I know I might be out in the sun. To some degree, this primer controls face shine.

The result is great, it does not feel sticky and truly diminishes mid-faint redness on my face. As it is quite sheer, more amount is required and is completely buildable, without it looking “cakey”.

Banana Bright Eye Creme

IMG_0904.jpg

OLE HENRIKSEN

The formula was thick and was rich in consistency, it was truly satisfying when it was applied. Due to the thickness of it, you just need a little when applying. I use it during my night-time routine, but I did read you can also use it before your morning cosmetics.

Targeting fine lines, wrinkles and those pesty dark circles, this collagen-boosted eye cream will be your right-hand weapon! The secret ingredient I think, would be its use of Vitamin C. The banana pigment, it says, would be a great colour corrector for the eye area. I haven’t tried it, but that answers why it has that banana pigment to it.

My results was great! I found my eye area brighter, like I would look less like a panda when the weeks went by. Eye concealer I found was easier to buff out, due to the application of the eye creme the night before. The eye creme had an effect of smoothing and hydrating the under-eye area. I wished I bought the larger version.

Vivid Cotton Ink

IMG_1051.JPG

INNISFREE

I am slowly building up this little collection of Innisfree’s cotton ink lip tints. I have been meaning to use lip tints more, just because of its natural finish look. For $16.10 you get 4g of lip tint and is available in 15 shades, I believe in the same colour palette. Mainly reds and browns.

I love the soft, flat-edge wand used, as it applies the shine essence oil-infused (camellia, mango seed, avocado, cotton seed oil) tint across the lips. I wonder how it would work on the cheeks mmm? Anyways, it feels moist, soft and non-drying once applied and has a slight fragrance to it. I would spread a tiny bit in the inner-most of my lips and then spread it out with my fingers. A little tint dabbed on, goes a long way! It is super pigmented so it lasts for a good 3-4 hours. Definitely buildable and once dried, it does not smudge. Non-sticky too! The finish is matte, with subtle shine.

Gold Spun Camellia Lip Balm

IMG_3072.JPG

TATCHA | AMAZON

Can we take a minute and appreciate the packaging? It looks and feels luxurious! It was a definite treat opening it up and then finding the balm, cased within a beautiful circular clear case.

To be honest, what attracted me to this product, was the flakes of gold. Once applied, it gives your lips a slight simmer, which is prefect when your lips need that little oomph. The balm is a mixture of camellia oil and squalene, which will provide your lips with a generous amount of moisture throughout the day. The balm is not sticky and it glides, as well as dissolve, evenly when applied. There is quite a bit of balm in the container, which will sufficiently last you a while! A definite bang for your buck.
