To welcome the exciting Sydney Science Festival and National Science Week, the Powerhouse Museum opened its doors for a late night event (6 – 9pm) called MAASive Lates.

It was a night filled with all things science-related, it truly was like an adults’ playground! We each had an ‘experience passport’ that showcased a variety of exhibitions, performances and hands-on activities. It was a free-entry event, though you had to have purchased a ticket, I believe was useful to them knowing how many people would turn up. The event had 3 pop-up food trucks and a very long table topped with non and alcoholic beverages.

Some things that were showcased are:

UK space scientist Dr. Maggie Aderin-Pocock with ABC’s scientist Ruben Meerman, periodic table bingo (did not even attempt – due to lack of knowledge in this area haha), memory test, curator tours, speed meet a scientist, body movement workshop, science research encounters and much more! Can’t wait what they will offer for next year!
